Empowering children,

one word at a time.

As a speech language pathologist for almost 30 years, my main objective is to improve speech and language skills to increase the ability of students to communicate effectively.

My philosophy is simple: Make a meaningful connection with the student to help that learner have an intrinsic desire to most effectively communicate their thoughts and ideas. Throughout my years of experience working with different children and the diverse speech, language, pragmatic and social skills deficits I have encountered, I have made this principle my driving force.

I treat learners with delays and disorders such as apraxia, speech sound disorders, language based learning disabilities, hearing impairments, ADHD, dyslexia, pragmatic language delays, autism spectrum disorder, fluency, word finding difficulties, auditory processing, oral motor and feeding delays.

Through speech and language therapy, I provide individualized, evidence-based and comprehensive speech and language assessment and intervention for various speech and language disorders.

“Two of my children have had speech therapy with Michele. She is wonderful and my kids love her. She has helped them so much and they enjoyed going to speech. Michele also helped me advocate for them at school. She is an amazing speech therapist and has been a great advocate for my kids.”

“Michele was a fantastic speech therapist for my 3-year-old daughter with an articulation speech disorder. We loved Michele right away! She was compassionate and loving with my daughter, and we immediately felt comfortable knowing we were in good hands. We worked with Michele for two years, and she did a fabulous job connecting with my daughter and made it a fun experience! My daughter's speech has improved dramatically since working with Michele. We are grateful. Michele truly loves her job and goes above and beyond for the families she works with.”

“At my daughter’s kindergarten parent/teacher conference I was so so happy when the teacher said my daughter was “a little too much of a social butterfly”. Ms Michele worked with her to get her to speak properly and the results were terrific. She had friends and was a happier child.”

“Working with a child with special needs takes patience and a proficiency in one’s area of expertise. Ms. DeMaria saw my son and was efficient, well versed in speech therapy, and had tremendous empathy. My son got so much from her interventions and enjoyed their sessions. Ms. DeMaria spent time with me afterwards explaining progress made and working towards a goal. She was reassuring and knew what she was doing. I would highly recommend her services.”
